I like this site because, as an organic gardener, knowing the nutritional content of compost materials is valuable information. This site offers an easy to interpret table of nutritional values.

  1. Compost, compost, compost

Good compost reduces water runoff, reduces weeds, naturally fertilizes, improves soil aeration and percolation and recycles many (non-meat) food leftovers.

Good, organic soil encourages worms, who accelerate the process and enrich the soil through conversion and through aeration

  3. The Vegetable Gardener's Bible is a valuable resource. And I use alfalfa pellets as a soil conditioner/slow release fertilizer. (nitrogen and hormones that aid plant growth)
